I have a beautiful countertop calendar that meets me each morning as I reach for my coffee cup. The following words are not mine. They belong to Stephen Covey, the author of the calendar. I must admit that I know little of his work, however I do enjoy this little morning pleasure.
“A life of integrity is the most fundamental source of personal worth. Peace of mind comes when your life is in harmony with true principles and values, and in no other way. There is also the intrinsic security that comes as a result of effective interdependent living. There is security in knowing that Win/Win solutions do exist, that life is not always “either/or,” and that there are almost always mutually beneficial Third Alternatives.”

I don’t suppose by some chance he also tells you how to actually BE a person with integrity does he? I know he say’s it in the post, but a few heads up ideas would be nice. I need solutions people…not answers.
But in all seriousness. How do you envisage yourself being a person with integrity? Is it something that you decide you have, or for other people to decide for you?
Haha..you know, Sy. I may just have to skip through the calendar pages to the future. I wonder if it those answers come in May, or something. Great comment. I can always count on you to throw me a twister, and make it interesting. I know that the first half of my book answers exactly what you ask…but, it’s for women..lol.
Integrity is something we work on, and I think that’s why we feel it more the more we age..like wisdom. For me it means aligning all aspects of myself, and walking the talk, without living tons of contradictions, and should haves. One example, anyway.
Ahh yes. Me and books for women are not something that go hand in hand.
Now. Integrity. We touched on that without ever using the word itself. Now what was the post? The one with the mask wasnt it? Lemme go check. Back in a sec.
Yup. The Mask. A lot of the comments in there would align themselves to the comment you make here regarding not living tons of contradictions. Yet people will be a different person around the group they are with. Thus constantly contradicting themselves.
Oh. And hey, it is Mothers Day here today. So Happy Mothers Day Tamera!
And, it is stressful! Much nicer with comfortable clothes like we discussed on your blog.
Mother’s Day there? Cool! thank you very much. It was Mother’s Day in Norway last month. My eldest son was born on that day. Splendid idea with monthly celebrations. Will they ever be surprised when I tell them that they forgot! lol
Comfy clothes is the way to a better life. Being a style guru is just plain wrong!!
Ooohh…yeah, tell them they missed this one! Keep them on their toes!
I’m over at kdawg’s place (Aspiring Horseplayer), watching this weekend’s horse-races. Have you been over there? I am learning to be a Master of horse knowledge. lol…I like the videos. Although, I’m sure the questions I ask are plain wrong and ridiculous!
I haven’t, but I may well take a trip over in a bit and see what is there then!
2am. Bedtime!
Well, I think this is a very important post. Being in law enforcement, I am here to tell you, there are huge masses of folks who wake up and do not give integrity a thought. Sharing this will help me to share this with others! Sometimes thought is contagious~
Law enforcement? *gulp* (just kiddin’). You are very right, and we get to hear about them every evening on the news. Thanks for stopping by (I’m working on those questions)
